Don't Think of an Elephant?!
Wow... Last night, I fell asleep right away without checking my phone in bed.
Once the thought, "I shouldn't look at my phone," vanished, it didn't even cross my mind to look at it.
They say this is just how the human brain works. The brain can't process negative commands.
It's exactly like how the moment you're told, "Don't think of an elephant," you automatically picture one.
I used to think I struggled to keep my resolutions because of my strong rebellious streak... but it was quite a relief to learn that our brains are just biologically wired that way.
So, I figured I should start feeding my brain positive instructions instead of negative ones.
But at this point, there's one thing I need to admit.
Along with that biological brain trait, I definitely still have that 'rebellious streak' of mine...
The moment I tell myself, "I need to come up with a positive statement..." my mind goes completely blank.
Yeah, forget it. Just do absolutely nothing and stay exactly as you are...
Okay. This is not bad. I like this.
