Finding What Actually Works

I slept with my phone again.

Failed.

I’ll look for something else I can actually do right now instead of obsessing over the phone.

Still, I woke up with a smile on my face.

I came to my senses and smiled once more.

That slightly awkward smile turned into a small sense of peace.

“Alright. Instead of clinging to what’s not working and forcing it, let’s look around again and see what actually works.”

My morning starts simple:

  • Greeting the sunlight each morning with fresh eyes after waking up safe and sound.

  • Stretching and gently loosening up my muscles.

  • Brushing my teeth and taking a spoonful of olive oil.

  • Drinking a glass of warm water and waking myself up one more time.

As I already know that at some point today, without fail,
I’ll have at least one precious little “LOL” moment that no one else knows about, with a knowing smile, I finish the remaining water in one gulp.

After a fun day, by evening,
I found one incredibly easy mission I can do right before going to sleep.

Falling asleep with gratitude.

Forced effort is probably what I’m worst at.
And trying to come up with something grand or special to feel grateful for is way too hard.

So—

Just feeling grateful for this situation itself. Simply being able to lie here comfortably, ready to sleep.

Something this easy existed... and I hadn't even thought of it.
I mean, wow... Isn’t this something to be deeply grateful for? Or am I overthinking it?

Either way, I feel pretty great right now just knowing I found something I can do easily without forcing myself.
Just knowing I don’t have to make everything difficult feels oddly freeing.
I’m even feeling a little proud of myself for thinking of this.

I think I’m going to sleep very well tonight.
